The Audi E-tron was shown in January 2010. It differs from the E-tron version that was exhibited in the autumn 2009 in Frankfurt.
This time we see more scaled and simplified version, but it saved all the signs of a pre-production prototype. The Detroit E-tron reached two goals at the same moment. First, the prototype demonstrates the capabilities (and intentions) the Audi 2010 to creating a real e-mobile. And secondly, it gave an idea about the promising sports coupe R4.
The new model is preparing for mass production in a couple of years but also with the e-engine. The striking compact E-tron from Audi 2010 has harmonic (as for a sports coupe) proportions. The space is just right enough for placing 2 seats and lithium-ion batteries. E-battery pulls for a good 400 kg, its effective capacity is near 45 kW-h. The Battery is fed by a pair of traction e-motors with a total capacity of 150 kW/204 HP.
